The varsity girls basketball team pushed their record to 4-2 after a win against conference foe Charlotte. The Raiders got off to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Portland was led by Lilly Thelen with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The Raiders also had strong contributions from Jayden Townsend with 9 points and 3 steals, Malia Thelen with 8 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals, and Bella Spitzley who had 7 steals and 4 rebounds. Portland is currently tied for first in the CAAC White Conference and plays East Lansing at home tonight.
The Girls JV team moved to 6-0 with the 61-16 league win. Claire Lyon led the way with 17 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Erica Russman led in rebounding with 8 boards to go with her 7 points. Anna Morris also had 7 points to go along with her 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Kennedy Snitgen had a great all round game with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Anna Edick pulled down 7 rebounds to go with 4 points and 2 assists, Ayla Force pitched in with 5 points, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Avery Wezensky dished out 6 assists to go along with her 4 rebounds. Next up is a home matchup with East Lansing, Monday at 5:30.
