The Portland Girls Varsity Tennis team traveled to Rochester Saturday to take onl D-1 teams. Rochester, Walled Lake Northern, and a D-2 school Birmingham Seaholm. Though the team ended up placing 4th, the improvement players made from their first match to their last was impressive. The tournament also allowed some extra players to get match play as it included a 5 doubles draw. (Varsity matches officially consist of 4 singles and 4 doubles matches.) We faced some tough opponents but put forth incredible effort in each and every match they played. The sunshine and warmer temps were a welcomed change and made the day enjoyable no matter the outcome.

Portland Tennis shout out for this invitational goes to our lone flight champion, 2 singles, Adriana Krieger.

Our next action is Tuesday when we travel to Lansing Catholic.
