Boys Freshman are 1-2 on the season. The Freshman started out with a win over Hastings that was a hard fought game. Keaton McGregor led the team with 14 pts. Carter Higbee also had a great game with 12 pts and 5 rebounds.  Caiden Lockwood finished with 9 pts and Evan Thelen added. 4pts.  Great team effort defensively with the Raiders winning 52-41.

Next up was Charlotte. This was a very close game that went back and forth with multiple lead changes throughout the game. Portland had a solid defensive effort with Caiden Lockwood taking two charges and two steals to help keep the Raiders close.  Offensively Keaton McGregor had 11 pts.  Carter Higbee added 10 pts and Tyler Smith had 9 pts and 4 rebounds. Trey Hengsbach finished with 4pts.  While a very close game and a chance to tie or win the Raiders fell 42-44.  On Monday the Raiders had another tough game against Ovid-Elsie.   Another game that had multiple lead changes with the teams making multiple runs.  Carter Higbee led the Raiders with 8 pts, 4 rebounds and Josh Allerding added 7pts.  Cody Hengsbach finished with 4 pts. Raiders again had a shot at the end to tie the game but rimmed out at the end.  Raiders fell 35-38.  Next up is a home against Ionia.
