JV Golf Earns a Couple Nice Wins

The girl’s JV golf team completed their 2021 C.A.A.C. White Divisional play
with an eleven stroke victory over Lansing Catholic. Played on the front
nine-holes of the Shadow Ridge Golf Course in Ionia, the Raider’s victory
extended the JV’s consecutive divisional JV Girls Golf Championships to six.
Portland shot a team total of 226 to Lansing Catholic’s 237. Charlotte,
Eaton Rapids, Ionia and Lansing Sexton JV teams did not have golfers in their
lineups at yesterday’s jamboree to post team scores.
Scoring for Portland JV’s was: Bailee Fish who shot 49 to earn match
medalist honors; Ella Gruber and Paige Spedoske each carded rounds of 58 and
Annabella Bower and Claire Reynolds both finished with 61’s.
Portland will host cross county rival Lakewood for a dual match at the
Portland County Club on Thursday.

In a non-conference dual match played at The Falcon in East Lansing, the
Raider’s girl’s JV golf team out shot the East Lansing Trojans by twenty-
eight strokes. The course for yesterday’s match was set up as par twenty-
seven course. Portland shot a season best team score 165 to East Lansing’s 19
to improved their overall season record in jamborees and dual matches to
28 and 3.
Bailee Fish shot a twelve over par 39 to earn match medalist honors. Ella
Gruber finished with a fifteen over par 42. Paige Spedoske and Annabella
Bower had sixteen over par rounds of 43. Hailey Wolf carded a 59.
The JV girls golf team will finish their 2021 season tomorrow afternoon when
they host cross country rival Lakewood for a dual match at the Portland
County Club.
