Played at Lansing Sexton’s home golf course, Royal Scot in Lansing, Lansing Catholic took an eight stroke edge over Portland 174 to 182 to capture first place at yesterday’s CAAC White Division jamboree. Played in light but steady rainfall, the Raiders didn’t quite come up with enough saved strokes to hold off Lansing Catholic. Charlotte shot a 189 to finish in third place. Eaton Rapids edged Ionia 196 to 198 for fourth and fifth places. Lansing Sexton came in at sixth. With their second, second place finish to go with last week’s first place finished in divisional matches, the Raider linkster’s are tied for first place at the half way point of divisional competition.
Scoring for the Raiders: CJ Miller earned back-to-back match medalist honors with a four over par 40; Carter Rosier shot a persona and season best nine-hole score of 43; Isaac Honsowitz finished with a 49 and Josh Rutkowski rounded out the Portland team scoring with a 50.
