The Raider Wrestlers traveled to Holt High School on Wednesday to for a CAAC White battle with Charlotte and a true test from Holt (#7 in Division 1) along with a match from Lansing Everett.
Your Raider Grapplers handedly controlled both their Charlotte (54-24) and Lansing Everette (78-6) opponents. A big win came from Josh Feldpausch against Charlotte as he pinned his opponent in 2 minutes 43 seconds! Great work Josh!
The last dual of the day came between Portland and Holt. Holt proved to be too much for the Raiders as they secured 7 pins establishing a 57-20 victory of our Raiders.
The second event of the week was at St. Johns. Historically, St. Johns has won numerous wrestling state championships and has been dominant as a program. Also at the event were Lansing JW Sexton and Williamston. The first dual for the Raider Grapplers was Lansing JW Sexton in which the Raiders won 81-0. With JW Sexton having 9 forfeits, the score rose like Coach King’s cholesterol. This victory secured the Raider Wrestlers in their CAAC White Division League Championship! Congratulations to our Raider Wrestlers in their first league championship in 20 years!
The Second dual was with St. Johns and proved to be an exciting one. Coming down to the last match, the Raiders secured their victory with a score 42-31. The big win goes to Jake Olson as he battled in Overtime to secure a takedown and his match! Nice job Jake!
The third and final dual was with Willimston, who the Raiders triumphed over last month by 30 points. This time around the Raiders and the Hornets had a few lineup changes. The final score came to 45-31 with your Raiders finishing the day 3-0! Big win of this dual goes to Jackson Weygandt as he moved up to Heavyweight (285) and battled from his back to pin his opponent! Way to go Jackson!
