The Raider Wrestlers took a short trip Saturday to visit our neighbors in DeWitt. The 3 duals proved to be challenging as the raiders were handed their 2nd loss of the season.
The Raiders handled both Grand Blanc (47-25) and Waverly (53-18) without many issues but lost to DeWitt in an exciting duel by 2 points (36-38).
Coach Pulling summarized the day acknowledging their loss but focused on their positives, “We took our lumps today, no doubt. However, we are a tough group with specific goals and a tremendous amount of willpower. Sure we didn’t have our traditional lineup, but this isn’t a traditional year. We were able to rely on some younger talent stepping up and willing to battle. I’m proud and excited for our guys, they just keep showing up with a hunger to get better.”
This performance moved the team to 9-2 on the season. Going undefeated for the Raider Grapplers were: Chandler Murton (171) with 2 pins and a forfeit, Branson Goodman (215) with 2 pins and a forfeit, Drew Miller (130/135) with a Technical Fall (15-0), forfeit and a pin, Isaiah Pelc with 2 forfeits and a pin, and Deakin Guidi (152) with 2 pins and a forfeit.
