Portland High School Bowling Teams participated in the annual kick off tournament at Royal Scott Bowling alley on Sunday. 

The girls team qualified 9th after the first 12 games. Unfortunately they were knocked out after the first round. Coach Joe Whitford said after losing six seniors last year it was a good start for the team they are showing some great potential.

The boys team also made the cut in 11th place. After only one returning bowler from last year, Coach Armour said they exceeded his expectations even though there are some skills that need to be worked on.  This team will get better and better as the season goes on.

Next action is a scrimmage against Saint Pats Monday at the Wagon Wheel
