The girl’s JV golf team completed C.A.A.C. White Divisional play, with an undefeated league record at yesterday’s final divisional jamboree of the season. Played at the Maple Brook Golf Course in Charlotte, the Raider victory extended the JV’s consecutive jamboree first place finishes to nineteen in-a-row over the past four seasons for a win/loss record of 48 and 0.

The Portland team equaled their season best nine-hole team score, for a second time this season, shooting a 207. Charlotte captured second place, by virtue of the fifth player tie-breaker with a 236 which was the same team score shot by Lansing Catholic.

Scoring for Portland JV’s was:  Madison Lockwood and Aubree Faulkner who both shot 49’s and shared match medalist honors; Carding her best round of 2019 season, Josie Goodman finished with a 52 and Senior Jada Spitzley concluded her PHS stroke play golf career with a 57.

The JV’s finish a very successful 2019 season with a 12 and 0 record in six JV jamboree matches; At three JV tournaments, they finished with two championships and one runner-up for an outstanding tournament record of 16 wins and 1 loss.
