The girls JV golf team finished only four strokes to many from capturing their
second tournament championship of the season at Tuesday’s, nine-hole, Ithaca
Yellow Jacket Invitational. Played at Ithaca’s home golf course – The Fields,
the Raiders shot a team score of 215 to finish just behind first place Central
Montcalm’s varsity team’s score of 212.
Scoring and medaling for Raiders were: Madison Lockwood, who earned the
tournament’s medalist honors with best round of the day out of forty-two
golfers, shot a 50; Aubree Faulkner carded the fifth best individual score and
medaled individually with a 53; Jada Spitzley finished with a 54 and earned a
seventh place, individual medal and Lyndan Desgranges shot a 58.
Portland’s varsity and JV teams will travel today to Lansing to play in the
CAAC White Division’s fourth jamboree match at Lansing Catholic Central’s
home course Groesbeck.
