The Varsity Girls Tennis Team didn't let a little snow the day before a Monday match get in the way of their determination. With the snow finally melted off the courts, they hosted East Lansing yesterday and fought for a 6-2 victory. Winning matches for Portland were 1singles Kayla Weller, 4singles Alyssa Jack, 1doubles Riley Thelen/Rachel VanHouten, 2doubles Sam Weber/Maura Lufkin, 3doubles Novelle Matteson/Julia Savage, and 4doubles Emily Bigelow/Corey Smith. Also earning an exhibition win were 5doubles Xanthe Cross/Mya Collins. We head to Lansing Catholic today for our first league match of the season.
