The Boys Varsity basketball team got its first win of the season on Monday with a 51-41 victory over Laingsburg.  After trailing by one point entering the fourth quarter the Raiders held Laingsburg to only two points in the quarter and put up 13 points of their own to pull away for the win.  The team is still trying to get into basketball form as 8 of the 11 players were on the State Champion runner-up football team.  

Owen Russell led the way with 14 points and David Svanda scored 8 of his 10 points in the second half to help secure the win.  A great team defensive effort in the second half was an important key to the win.  The Raiders will open up conference play with a home game versus Ionia this Friday at 6 pm.
